A Personal Photolog: Steve Winwood from Childhood to Today

English musician Stephen Lawrence Winwood is not only a vocalist and keyboardist, but he can also play bass, electric and acoustic guitars, drums, mandolin and violin. His music includes rock, R&B, pop rock, jazz and blue-eyed soul.
He was a main member of The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith, as well as Go. Because of the challenges of touring and recording, Winwood left Traffic and went on a hiatus for several years. In 1977, he released his self-titled solo album. Winwood’s Arc of a Diver became a hit in 1980, including “While You See a Chance,” which turned out to be his first hit song as a solo musician. His songs “Higher Love” and “Roll with It” reached the top spot in the US Billboard Hot 100.
In 2004, Winwood was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Traffic. In 2005, he was named a BMI Icon at the annual BMI London Awards.
