Rick Springfield was born on August 23, 1949, in Australia. He has become a successful singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, author, and actor over the years. He started his career as a member of Zoot, a pop rock band that debuted in 1969. Springfield left the group in 1971, and began his solo career in mid-1972. One of his biggest hits is the all-time favorite Jessie’s Girl, but he also gave us other incredible songs like Don’t Talk to Strangers, I’ve Done Everything for You, Love Somebody, and Affair of the Heart.
 
His contributions to the music world garnered him a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. He also transitioned to television and film and established a career in the business. He appeared in dramas like High Tide, True Detective, Ricki and the Flash, and General Hospital. Let’s take a look at his journey from childhood to today.
