Jim Carrey is a Canadian-American comedian, actor, producer and screenwriter known for his incredible facial expression and energetic slapstick acting. He was born as James Eugene Carrey on January 17, 1962, in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada to Kathleen and Percy Carrey. He was the youngest of four siblings.
He began his acting career doing stage acts and went from open-mic sessions to paid stage gigs. He started to receive recognition after landing a role in the television show In Living Color as a recurring character. He then got lead roles in movies such as Dumb and Dumber, The Mask, Ace Venture and The Truman Show. His movie, Man on the Moon, earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
