American musician and singer-songwriter Chuck Berry is considered one of the pioneers of rock and roll. He has given us classic hits like Maybellene, Roll Over Beethoven, Rock and Roll Music, and Johnny B. Goode. Born into a middle-class family in Missouri on October 18, 1926, Berry showed his interest in music during his highschool years. He had quite an ordinary life growing up, and it was only in 1955 that he rose to fame because of his music. He is known for his developed and refined rhythm and blues, and his distinctive lyrics on consumerism and teen life. He is also remembered for his showmanship during his guitar solos, making him an icon in rock music. He was one the first musicians to become a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, and he will always be one of the greatest artists in the music world.
